Historical day out!

I finally decided to visit an English heritage site and explore some history before I get back to university. This trip combined two of my favourite things, history and the picturesque english landscape.  The location was Kenilworth castle, one of the famous castles in the UK.  The castle is one of the oldest in Britain which dates back to the 1100s. One of the most famous residents of the castle was Queen Elizabeth I herself. It appears as as ruins, but a little imagination and knowledge is enough to revive it. It was set in the stunning Warwickshire countryside. One of my favourite moments was gazing out at the grounds and admiring the beauty that surrounded me.

As Jane Austen said: "There are much to be pitied who have not been given a taste for nature early in life."
